Text repeater guide
Repeat text without losing control of the result
A text repeater turns one piece of text into a predictable sequence. Instead of copying and pasting the same line by hand, you enter it once and let the browser construct the full result. That is useful for formatting test data, making visual dividers, building repeated labels, preparing classroom exercises, or creating patterned text with symbols and emoji. Fontgene updates the result as you type, so you can inspect both the formatting and final character count before copying anything.
Choose the separator that matches the destination
The separator controls what appears between copies. A new line places every repetition on its own row. A space creates a normal sequence of words. Comma and space produces a readable list, while “none” joins every copy directly. The custom option accepts up to 100 characters, so a separator can be a dash, slash, bullet, short label, emoji, or even a combination such as · . Separators are inserted only between repetitions, never after the final copy.
Practical ways to use repeated text
- Layout testing: create repeated labels or sample content to see how an interface handles wrapping and overflow.
- Lists and worksheets: repeat a prompt on separate lines, then paste the block into a document for editing.
- Visual patterns: combine symbols or emoji with a custom separator to make a clean divider.
- Data preparation: produce a known number of repeated values for a spreadsheet or text editor.
Why count and character limits both matter
The repeat count can be as high as 10,000, but a short symbol repeated 10,000 times is very different from a long paragraph repeated 10,000 times. To prevent an oversized result from freezing the tab, Fontgene stops before allocating output above 1,000,000 characters. The tool shows the estimated size and tells you to shorten the input or lower the count. The app you paste into may have a much smaller limit—social captions, chat messages, forms, and spreadsheets all set their own rules.
Private, local processing
Your input is repeated by JavaScript running in this browser tab. The tool does not upload the text, create an account record, or save the result on Fontgene's servers. When you press Copy, the browser's clipboard feature handles the result. If clipboard permission is unavailable, the generated text remains visible so you can select and copy it manually.
